平成17年「相生市財政SOS宣言」を行い、予算額を約20%削減される中、将来の人口減少が最重課題として浮き上がり

②教育・子育て・少子化対策

③産業の活性化対策を掲げ、

 

積極的なPRを展開した結果、府中市より人口の少ない相生市が、府中市より出生数が多い市となりました。
